Assessment
battery testing assessment. did this assessment on a Opel Victre. measured the the capacity in cold cranking amps which was CCA 500, then to make sure the battery was in good condition to continue I had to do a visual on the battery for things like wire contact, dust, leakage etc. I found the battery was good and didn't need any further action so it was safe for me to continue to check the electrolyte levels which turned out all ok. then measured the OCV and that was 13.22 this means that the battery is surface charge to remove that, the engine can be cranked for 15 seconds or by switching the head lights for just about 2 mins. then continued to check the specific gravity variation of the battery and that was 125 with a allowable specific gravity variation of 50. finally the load current test using the High discharge test which turned out to be 250 and the load applied was 9.5 which was loaded for 15 seconds.
